Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine to Excellent condition. The slide serrations and the serrations on the small parts are sharp. There is thinning on the edges of the slide and de-cocker, with several light marks in the top and right side of the slide, a small scratch in the trigger bar and a tiny mark through the finish in the trigger guard. Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. All of the markings are crisp.īore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. The alloy frame is painted bright black.įinish Originality: The finish is original. Type of Finish: The slide and barrel have a matte black finish. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition. The checkering shows light wear without mars. There are a very few light marks in the smooth borders of the grips with several tiny dings and a few scratches on the bottom surfaces. ![]() Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black checkered plastic with shallow thumbrest on the left side and a cutout for a “D” shaped lanyard ring at the bottom of the left grip. The rear face of the front sight has a small white dot and there is a small white square under the notch in the rear sight, creating a two-dot aiming system. The front sight is a blade with a slightly ramped rear face and a curved front face that is fixed to the top of the slide. Sights / Optics: The pistol is mounted with a flat topped square notched rear sight dovetailed into the slide and secured with a set screw. The right side flat is marked with an “Eagle / N” proof mark and a hardness test punch. The flat at the front of the barrel is marked “9 PARA” and the left side flat is marked with a Walther banner logo. The right side of the slide is marked with an Eagle / N” proof, “501908”, “INTERARMS / ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA” and “MADE IN GERMANY”. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with a “HH” date code, an Ulm antler proof and a “Eagle / N” proof. The left side of the hammer and the left side of the takedown lever are marked with a polar star (indicated redesigned or improved part). The left side of the frame is marked “501908”. ![]() Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with a circled dot (Walther factory stamp for firearms made to military/police standards), a Walther banner logo, “Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do / P38 – K”.
